Action in Language, Organisations and Information Systems

The Venue

ALOIS 2006 and WESPA will take place at the University College of Borås, Borås, Sweden. The venue will be at the School of Business and Informatics at Sandgärdet.

The University College of Borås (UCB), was established in 1977. However, it springs from a long professional and academic tradition dating back to the foundation of the School of Weaving Technology in 1866. Today UCB's has 11.500 students.

Informatics and Business Studies are two growing sectors at UCB. The School of Business and Informatics has built its strength and established niches in these two areas. The School's wide network of contacts with industry and business enterprises in the region ensures that students have a ready and rewarding opportunity to relate theory to practice.

Borås combines all the wealth of choice you might find in a big city with the convenience of a small town. As the second largest municipality in western Sweden, Borås offers a rich choice of public services, trade and commerce, cultural events, recreation and education, as well a highly specialized labour market. Proximity to both Gothenburg and Landvetter International Airport is a major asset. No less than 1.5 million people live within a 100-kilometre radius of the city, itself a focus for the 220,000 inhabitants of the Sjuhärad area, half of whom reside within the municipality.

On the evening of November 1, the dinner will be held at the restaurant Spagetti in the centre of Borås (!
